Fox Hunt

April 9’th fox will be turned on at 10am. Lunch will be served after the hunt at the finish line. If you want to meet before the event starts and get written rules/clues, come to the Nampa School District Office at 625 S Canyon in Nampa at 9:45. Or if you don’t think you need the rules/clues just tune into 147.450 for the high powered fox, which you should be able to hear from most areas of the treasure valley. The fox is someplace in Canyon county east of Karcher rd HWY 55, South of the Freeway and North of the River. This is a large area so use your tools and skills to limit where you search. There will also be a lower powered fox that is turned on at the same time on 146.565. The low powered fox only has 150 mw so you might not be able to hear it from all of the Treasure Valley.

  1. As a reminder Lunch will be after the hunt and everybody is welcome, We will have sandwich fixings, please bring a side to share if you can, but we have never run out of food yet. 🙂

  2. The Fox Hunt. I want to start by saying thank you for everybody that participated, with an extra thank you to our host Scott B, W7IMC, our rogue operator Brent Hoot Gibson KD7RBX, and all of the people that participated in the hunt or just stopped by for lunch afterwords. This was a very close hunt for the top three teams. It seems that Mike Cline WB7RWS was on site first, with Brian Roberts KC7NOC right behind him. Just a few moments later Mike Treasure W7UH and Mikey Davis W7HXC pulled up. As the searched for the low power fox Mike/Mickey found it first, but as you can see from the picture Brian was right there as well. Because of this all three teams will be getting awards next month. WB7RWS first on Scene, KC7NOC first single operator, and W7UH/W7HXC first team. Great job, this was all done in less than a hour and half, with I think it was 4 mile drive from the starting point.
