We are working on setting up an ARDEN network in the Treasure Valley Area. We have a few nodes up and running and are working on getting them connected. We need more people to setup nodes.

Aredn is growing now in the treasure Valley. We have three nodes setup at peoples homes that are connected together with a tunnel and currently have 2 repeater sites that we will be placing hardware on. One on Squaw Butte and another lower level site we can’t advertise yet. If anybody is willing to donate equipment or funds for equipment it would be greatly appreciated. We are working on getting access to sites high enough to serve the whole treasure valley with a mesh network that is separate from the internet and based on solar power so they will function if the internet or power goes down. We also want to have some mobile stations that can be deployed to different locations when needed.

Oct 2/3 Ca QSO party. Setup at 3150 Kuna Mora Rd Kuna Idaho. Room for camping. Nice dinner on Saturday night, come join us and have fun. Will be a table or two of swap meet items as well.

Dave NQ6S and Rob KW2E is trying to put together a concerted effort for the September VHF contest which is Sept 11 and 12, 2021 and this will be our event for September. To do this they will need home stations around the area listing in on the VHF+ simplex frequencies and some Rovers willing to travel to try and make contacts from as many grid squares as possible. This should be a lot of fun. For anybody that is interested in being on the Rover team, contact Dave at NQ6S@Centurylink.com. Emails will also be on the club reflector at swidahoarc@groups.io, and the Facebook page will be used. Dave also monitors 146.52 regularly.
